Chocolate Cake – Ready Ingredients

Isn’t it so exciting to welcome a new cycle? Hmmm…. It is an agreed cycle, don’t complain. It is what we believe the first day of another new year. Let’s just take it for granted to make my writing short…. 🙂

Yes, it is my first day of the processes of the making of my chocolate cake of success.

All are checked and ready! All are good ingredients. In my real life, they are my ideas, thoughts, projects, inteligence, optimism, determination, and faith to God.

Day #1 is well done.

Tools! Ok, let’s find them. Remember, those should be the cleanest and every one of them should be ready.

2017 – Resolution….

New Year is coming…. Again!

Excitement is always there in the cut of a new cycle. Reviewing what’s past, planning what will be…. All emotions are forced to mix just like egg, flour, sugar, milk in a bowl of dough. Just remember putting the right measurement.

So, what baking is for 2017?

Making a chocolate cake, people would want to make a physically beautiful cake tasting good. People love a cake that looks pretty and tastes delicious, am I right?

Like making a beautiful and delicious chocolate cake, that’s what I want my life a head especially my 2017 be like.

I’ve gotta….
Prepare the best ingredients and know how much each of them is needed;
Get ready with the cleanest and most complete tools;
Spend good time in the kitchen;
Concentrate to the processes, never miss any one and do it as instructed;
Be patient.
My chocolate cake is my success in 2017.

Whatever I do, I succeed. And, I know as long as I have the proportion of ingredients and correct processes, I will!

Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons King Arthur Flour Black Cocoa, optional
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup strong black coffee (I used Green Mountain Coffee’s Vermont Country Blend)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

How to make:
– Heat oven to 180°F.
– Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans or one 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Set aside.
– In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment or in a large bowl with an electric mixer, combine the sugar, flour, cocoa(s), baking soda, baking powder and salt.
– Mix on low until dry ingredients are thoroughly combined.
– Add eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for about two minutes; the batter will be thin.
– Pour batter evenly into prepared pans.
– Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes for round pans, 35 to 40 minutes for rectangular pan or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
– Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks.
– Cool completely.
– Frost as desired.
