Mochi

Can you feel the excitement,
Dearest
Of a mochi maker
Imagining you chew what
He makes?
Mochi is
His masterpiece
Presented to life
Everyday
Through the excitement of
Your teeth!

Praise
Him.

The mochi maker

——

a ball of mochi that I skipped as I was too full after gobbling all other dishes — yet I didn’t forget to bless it and the maker

I don’t know who made the mochi yet they truly a group of human beings that amazed me with the softness and roundness of this mochi

see you again! 💕

Farewell Party

Farewell party
Is tasting the best of mood
That is remembered.

——

lunch on my last day in Kyoto — a set of Japanese washoku 💕

I won’t be back for work in Japan anymore so I will be back next year in my personal trips; yay! 😍😍😍

Tongue Twisted

This tongue is twisted
By taste and a language
For a little while.

I’m having lunch now and remembering one lunch on my first day in Kyoto. Lovely!

appetiser — too lovely to eat up 😭

Yuba Sashimi (sea bream tuna) — 💕

clear soup made in an individual Dobin — no spoon is needed, you drink the soup with the lid

grilled Spanish Mackerel —- I could eat another one 💕

Yuba Oke (their specialty)

steamed tofu with vegetablesverrrry good!

rice, miso soup, pickles — still good but the least I liked 🤭

dessert – persimmon 💕💕💕

About Shozankaku Matsuyama

Dilemma

It’s a dilemma
Between safety and beauty.
Each is a glory.

——

falling leaves on a moss garden

red falling leaves are beautiful and I want to experience them again someday yet it is always hard choice to me — always a dilemma between beautiful autumn or short torture of itchy welts

I’m allergic to cold weather — after 1 week I’m getting bad skin rash and itch that won’t let me stop scratching crazily on the itchy part; my recent Kyoto was the worst so far

I should have had antihistamine with me so all the falling leaves and moss garden images wouldn’t have been shaken by my skin-scratching disco 😂

I still wish to be back someday 💕 not in an extension of biz trip, but a personal leave only 😍

Released

It hurts when released.
In heart.
It hurts when kept.
In all.
And so I released.
All.

——-

I sent blessings and prayers to those passing away not known by their family — whoever and wherever you are all, I am one of those remember you as a family member 💕 May all beings be happy

I believe they are released from any unhappiness

🙏🏼

Bamboo Groove

A lot of smiles
Along the bamboo groove
Heading to the mountain
Where snow starts to move

——

sometimes you just have to smile and just smile 😊

racing with the time? why not? 😊

I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky 🦅

Autumn in Kyoto

Red leaves that come late
And green foliage that stay
Both recite stories
Of how time flies and leaves tracks.
Every single second counts.

Kiyotaki Tunnel, rather not nice if you go there alone

this is a river with crystal clear water worth the tunnel crossing — stunning view, clean air 💕

the other side of the bridge — I bet you can’t see people sitting on the rocky river 🙂

A Fragrant Machiya

This fragrance that travels in to the breathing brings me to where unknown stories were told.

Who built you,
Dear home?
Who grew with you,
Dear home?
Who left you,
Dear home?
I feel you,
Dear home.

Today I stay with
You
To realise that
Home is where breathing feels so real.

——

my favourite room where the fragrance of hinoki wood and tatami is the strongest — I feel home 😃

thank you!

I thought I would stay in a boutique hotel made from a machiya

I found that I am alone in a two-story fragrant machiya which is 3 times bigger than the condo unit I live in Singaporewon’t stay alone next time!

THE FRAGRANCE!!! ♥️

About machiya

A Cake

Perfect is a cake baked with heart and soul for those waiting patiently.

There is nothing perfect in material thing. Perfect lies in the patience of queueing buyers and in the chef’s dedication of making the best cake for those patiently waiting. And more…

It looks like just a cake but there are more than stories of recipe behind it. There is love of mother to her child. There is trial and error of a chef for her best cake. There is a rent that the shop should pay. There is a smile after every bite of the chocolate chiffon cake. There are best materials supplied by many different shops whose owners commit to customer satisfaction. There is mood that demands stability. There is a city that will be remembered because of this cake. And so on, and so forth. And all happen because of heart vibrating love with any reason possible in this life.

What looks simple or trivial knocks loudly if we lend some listening space.

Salaam.

many things about Japan fascinate me; I wish this country with its ethical practices can last much longer than what’s predicted 💝

Shrines in Kyoto

Temples are scattered around Kyoto, Japan. I visited three of them…. Many remaining to visit in my next trip to Kyoto.
