Weekend in Hanoi means walking around a lake, this time the West Lake. It was fun especially when closed with facial treatment in one local spa, May Spa.
Hanoi has a lot of spas named May but my friend said this is the “original” May Spa. Ok, I took the chance to relax there with facial treatment.
Hoa, the one doing the treatment was a polite woman who did her job very gently and thoroughly. Thank you, Hoa.
This flower blooms In a hottest day, In a beautiful garden, In a cold hallway. It just blooms No matter what. Just bloom And come what may.
my driver dropped me in the wrong gate yesterday and just drove away; he drives very well but doesn’t understand English (yes, he is a driver not a tour guide 😁) yet it was a blessing in disguise: i walked a bit and met these flowers on the way — beauty greets me everywhere when my heart is light
red roses in the hotel courtyard, tantalising colour
Roses, You are bright As bright as her eyes When finding the way And she's relieved.
Roses, You are shiny As shiny as her hair When reflecting the sunray And she's radiant.
Roses, You are prickly As prickly as her mood When getting hurt And she's fiery.
Roses, You are wild As wild as her rage When becoming uncontroled And she's sorry.
Roses, You are quiet As quiet as her composure When realising the truth And she's calm.
Roses, You are muted As muted as her body When taking a rest And she's refreshed.
Roses, You can be everything As complete as her existence When getting enlightened And she's humbled.
everytime in-room dining is served, a stem of rose in a vase will accompany the food
once done, the tray will be taken back and i ask for permission to put the rose in the vase in the room
and at the end of my stay there will be roses as many as how many times i choose to dine in the room than to go out (recently being evening lazed mode on)
She's calmed, Beloved, By evening breeze and shade. Simple as breathing--
i’m back to my preferred hotel, not the hotel on the lake; this is Hoan Kiem lake where i love to just sit on a bench by the lake for a while before going back to hotel for dinneror having coffee or dessert
Lucky, Beloved- A path cleared to be walked on With warm heart and smile.
i received a bunch of luck today: in the same flight with a colleague (sorry, i didn’t check iCal, buddy), given a room whose number is ended with 88 which is lucky number in Vietnamese culture, finding this song again after some time
hopefully i am lucky enough with all my preps to complete the work well
luck is simply small things to be humbly acknowledged
hello, Hanoi; you’ve been kind to me, i’ll be kinder to you
Feel good, Beloved, No matter what. Stars still shine. Moon and earth still spin.

Why are you nervous, my dear? Romance is within reach, just between breathing in and breathing out. Stars, moon and earth give you so much attention while you are ignoring them. They have done their jobs; you should do yours if you think it feels good.
May all beings be happy.
Salaam. 💝
one of 10 recommended pho in Hanoi, good recommendation found through Google searchdisclaimeryes! worth strolling from the hotel in Ly Thai To street to the stall in Ly Quoc Su street 💝 just made the feel good so good!
This evening I met up with two Saigonese friends— not planned, not predicted. We sent each other messages and found that we three were in Hanoi and decided to have dinner together.
OP’s coffee with milk, LP’s coconut coffee, my black coffee 🥰
His message to me: “I’ll pick you up once you’re prepared”. Her message to me: “Let me know when you arrive at hotel, I’ll kidnap you”. And they both came in the same taxi with different intension. 😁
For years we have always wanted to meet in Ho Chi Minh City to eat south pho bo and life preferred pulling us together in Hanoi for north pho bo.
Hanoi pho – sweeter, no ngogai leaves (Javanese coriander) and slightly murky, good especially enjoyed with friends 😍
A happy rendezvous! All was good. The only minus was that I had much noodle as part of dinner. 🙃 See you in HCMC!
I hope to get other sweet surprises. Or at least I commit to feel good no matter what so any surprises will be sweet.
Salaam.
sweet surprise story shared to me: he was a medical doctor before a major accident that took away some of his physical ability and his job; now he is a part time historian bringing tourists to historical places in Hanoi in the evening and a full time employee in a pharmaceutical company in the day; recently he escorted a surgeon with his wife doing social work in Vietnam who happens to be in the same project with a Vietnamese surgeon who happens to be this historian’s roommate in medical school years ago; long story short what life brings is often unpredictable, hope for the best! 🙏🏼
Romance, Beloved, Turns her into a dreamer Of a slow dinner.

Today’s dinner is the longest ever I have alone: sitting in the restaurant for almost one hour not only to eat but also to enjoy a sight of two old-aged lovers enjoying dinner at a table across mine. There was no obsession of showy loving, no romantically staring each other, no hand holding, only picking food from the shared menu on a plate and a bowl s-l-o-w-l-y almost meditatively — Hmmm I mean I still dream of doing the young romance but at their age all lovers will have become “private life historians” wanting to recount memories alone in the crowd. 😄
They spoke Vietnamese so I (almost) whispered to a waitress serving both of our tables to translate a chunk of the chat we both eavesdropped. A couple of hackers of very ordinary topics! 😊
When I left the table (they were having a shared plate of dessert s-l-o-w-l-y), I smiled and waved my hand to the lady. She smiled and waved to me, too. Silently I sent my prayer gift for their health and happiness.
I think my dinner was more romantic than theirs. What a beautiful evening!
Wakey, wakey!
Time to prepare tomorrow’s work! ☺️
Salaam.
romantically enjoying an experience of how a couple of senior lovers enjoying romance the way they are! fabulous! 💕
Flowers, Beloved, Dipping her days in colours, Leaving her in awe—

Thanks God for the flowers around which have helped me much to be in good mood. Suddenly get the urge to ritually pray and thank for all the blessings sprinkled on to me—
Weekend, bring me to Masjid Sultan. 🥰
rugosa roses, tiny dots that entertain 💝that day was as tough as bougainvillea; 39 degree Celcius! 🥵crape myrtle (bungur China in Indonesia) not crappy at allcalming lotus 🥰a bunch of lotus flowers for SGD1.4, they said 😍lily and hydrangea ♥️see you again soon, red carnations 🤗
How much time Is good to meet Old friends? Neither hours Nor minutes; A bowl of dessert Is good enough To throw jokes, To exchange laughter, Before the next page After PTO.

see you next time! those who didn’t clean the bowls paid! 😁
Blessings, Beloved, Smiles counted as a welcome Paid with a thank you.

I’ve always loved South East Asia countries; its friendliness, warmth and good food is beyond compare. Tonight was a nice local experiences with a colleague at Hanoi night for cha ca la vang, desserts on the road and egg coffee in Cafe Dinh. Most importantly on motor bike!
🏍
cha ca la vang – gone in 15 minutes! 🥰
couldn’t finish it
👍🏽
egg coffee – umm… creamy, soft and sweet
there is always cuteness making big smile
Mr Dinh
thought I could do it myself; yes, but not in Hanoi 😂 then I just let my colleague take me around 👏🏼
