I’m in Penang. Again.
It’s gonna be a fun day tomorrow – going for a durian party with my team to Balik Pulau. But it’s not the most impressive of my current trip. The tiptop of my gratitude is meeting with two animal rescuers: Pauline and Alexis, both are from Meowy Cat Shelter.
I saw one kitten cry desperately in front of hotel when I got back from a meeting but I could not rescue it because I was not allowed to go into the room with any pet so I browsed the Net to find any cat lover community in the island but failed. I called a friend – who is afraid of cat – to ask if she could recommend me to a cat lover, expectedly failed. Another friend, failed as well. Then I sent one short message to a random contact I got from the Net saying that I saw a cat bla bla bla…. – no reply. I decided to go up to my room, while the cat was frightened and hid under a white car parked exclusively next to the wheelchair ramp. It was a sad moment – not being able to help a helpless creature.
One of my friends unexpectedly iMessage-d me that she was parking her car in front of hotel lobby to get the kitten to her house before being delivered to SPCA in Jelutong. So, I flew downstairs meeting her hoping that the kitten was still there. I brought a bag for a rescue preparation.
But it wasn’t there, the car was also gone. The security guard who also saw the kitten told me that he’d tried his best to seek but in vain…. I patrolled around the hotel and apartment complex for the baby – no appearance. So, I asked her to leave because it was already 10:00pm, while she should have taken care of her family after work.
Surprisingly, my SMS to the random contact was replied saying “Please contact Alexis, I’m not in Penang right now. She’ll take the kitten. Meanwhile, if possible please smuggle the cat into the room until Alexis arrives. Thanks, Pauline.”
I told her that the kitten was nowhere to find. But she said “Find or not, please contact Alexis. We are from Meowy Cat Shelter…. You can find us in Facebook.”
A long conversation through Whatsapp happened afterwards, ended in an appointment to meet up in my next trip to Penang.
I also called Alexis twice telling her what was happening, I promised her to contact her if I see the kitten and even bring to her as long as I find it before I leave to Singapore on Friday.
This trip I might get a bit of despair because of not being able to 100% solve one particular case but I can feel a bit of joy of meeting beautiful souls like Pauline and Alexis above….
Life is offering a balance between yin and yang, even in a very simple way so no need to feel so dearly scared of not being able to smoothly move on (= on single piece of thin hair).
Thank you dear Lil’ Kitten for connecting me with Pauline and Alexis during this limbo.
I hope I can meet you oye kitten, Pauline and Alexis. God bless you!

I took pictures of some orangutans in Semenggoh Wild Center, Kuching, Malaysia – adult and young and got causght by this particular pose. Not really a pose made but let’s call it a pose — one orangutan mother was having lunch with her toddler. So playful and fun – yet nobody of the spectators expressed their excitement with sounds. All were smiling and some children were making very soft giggles (normal to loud voice would alert orangutans to go away). Just enough to know that we all felt the joy of witnessing the loving bond between mom and kid some 50 meters away of us.
Lesson I learnt: how ugly and silly your mom is, she is still the most understanding human on earth so never give her up. And, how ugly and silly your child is, s/he is still the most adorable one so don’t let him/her down.
Changi Airport – May 30, 2015 – 12:12pm
Second biztrip to Kuching, to see kucing*….
I also visited Semenggoh Wild Centre (for orangutan), Gua Angin (Wind cave), Serikin (a market in the border of Sarawak with Indonesia where a market is served by Indonesian traders only – Indonesia banget boooow), boating in Sarawak River. Hope to see you again next time – next year eh?

hhonors – May 24, 2015 – 12:31am
While waiting for flight, I went for a stroll in the garden of Changi airport as always, never think of boredom enjoying the sounds of forest and splash of water in the middle of greenery and flowers. Sometimes I envy how the “small red dot” can radiate such beauty’ while my beloved huge archipelago Indonesia is still craving for what’s called fairness (you can call it justice) for all….
Long story short, the giant bouquet was full of lilies and sunflowers and I was tempted to take some close-up pictures of them. The lilies are stunning, the sunflowers are just magnificent. But lilies drew my attention more strongly.
The pink and some stripes and dots show me details of pretty colors. And, I remembered lily symbolizes lots of quality of soul. Hope, transitioning, purity, renewal, passion, soul itself, motherhood, wedding, innocence and others…. Such a thorough symbol she is indeed.
All pictures are such clear message to me that those qualities above are existing that they are “patented” in the presence of lily by the ancient generations.
Let’s enjoy the beauty of lilies…
When colors do not attract eyes anymore,
Maybe it’s time for soul to go home.
But soul need no home to go,
She is the home for the life.
The door stands still, and we’re never outside.
Penang – March 17, 2015 – 7:57am – ready to cross Penang bridge
In the pond of one botanical garden, Ms. Tortoise was enjoying a warm day – oops warm enough to call it hot and she so much wanted to emerge to the surface. Swam, swam and swam…. Diving to see if she could see other fellow swimmers coming around. Oh, no one!
Ok, far ahead huge saucers are clustering. Maybe I can just perch for a while on one of them, thought Ms. Tortoise.
Swam, swam and swam…. Circling around some saucers which are actually leaves of water lily celebrating the sun ray.
Hop! Hop! Not easy for a tortoise to hop to something. Not easy, but doable. Yups!
Hmmm…. Ms. Tortoise saw on the leave wasn’t better than beneath the water. Ms. Tortoise decided to swim, swim, and swim away…. Enjoy the day! 🙂
Singapore – February 24, 2015 – 6:54pm
I went to Oslob, Cebu, Philippines — for whale shark watching last week. Butanding is the local language for whale shark (Rhincodon Typus). I wanted to exchange blessings with them.
With Michelle and Jerry – a tour guide and a driver – I left Mactan at 5am.
Deciding not to plunge in to the water, I didn’t bring any swimsuit. Ok, a boat was rented….
The boatman is part of the conservation team…. See the T-shirt worn.
Many people already swam around something…. A group of butanding enjoying their breakfast
The gentle giant was peeping below my boat. Please let me offer you my love, dear butanding….
Look at the spots on the body….
…. on the tail
He is deeply, seriously giving his blessings…. Or her blessings….
Blessings to the feeder on the boat….
To the onlookers on and beneath the water…..
And, to me….
Before I finally left the site, I put both my feet into the water and prayed in my heart, telling huge blessings then leaving them into the sea. Thank you, butanding…. For the blessings we exchange.

I took these pictures in Mount Bromo, East Java, Indonesia – my beloved country – in August 2010. What a lovely morning it was. Hundreds of people were waiting for the the sun to rise. They came from all corners of the earth: different colours of skin and hair (and teeth I guess). But it didn’t matter; they all shared the same expectations and expressions. When the sun showed its face timidly yet gracefully, those folks burst into happy laughter. Then they cheered, they clapped hands, they prayed, they cried, they smiled, they got amazed, they praised, they all emitted positive energy. Radiance is reflected through the eyes – either naked or behind glasses.
The next mornings in other places, we saw another sun rise but none of us laughed or cheered or clapped hands or prayed or cried or smiled or got amazed or praised…. Is it because we were not in Mount Bromo anymore? Probably. But most probably, we don’t always see the sun from the right angle. We see sun as just an object, a routine, just something but never a something….
People don’t really wait for the sun every morning for enjoyment. They wait for times to pass, just to kill it…. Second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year…. until the end is approaching and slowing down the time is possible no more.
Do I wait for time to pass? Or, to enjoy every hi from the morning sun? Hard to confess — because now I close my eyes when the sun is greeting.

Again, bukan soal rasa melainkan indera perasa…..
Semua maya 😂

I’m such a nagging grandma ha ha…. Please allow me to….
I’m in Juanda International Airport (terminal 2) Surabaya (East Java), a new one…. I’ve been in this site several times and kinda a bit disappointed with the facility.
They don’t have money changer, man….. When I asked “how come no money changer?”, they would say “Oh, it’s new….” as a giant excuse but it won’t work for me. And, today’s experience was definitely not first of mine; I told them to have one earlier this year (which were also asked by many people). And, they still don’t change. They asked me to go to terminal 1.
International? Do they seriously expect tourist and foreign business people to come in? So, what did they analyze of what the tourists need when arriving in an international airport?
They would tell you there’s a bank behind the ATM centre; and there you would be every disappointed with the rate. Today’s rate in the bank headquarters is IDR9,393.66 per SGD1 but the bank give much lower than that. And, what made me so upset the lady manager told me that it is today’s Bank Indonesia’ rate when I asked what rate they were using. Wow! Are you trying to cheat this TKW (tenaga kerja wanita = female foreign worker)? And, when I called my friend in Jakarta to check that bank’s today’s rate, the lady revised her statement – this time she said “We are actually using pur own rate, madam”. Another gent manager came to tell me more firmly about the exchange rate thing but I did not entertain him. I just asked for that manager’s mobile number with my poker face without listening to his lecturing about banking and told the tellers to proceed the transaction.
I just said bluntly, “Please answer my question honestly, madam and sir. I’m your customer and you don’t try to pull my legs. Just for one hundred dollar?”
This is part of what I don’t like about my beloved country, Indonesia Raya. Some people are taking any possible way to earn and it is also done by some people called service providers. Bank is one of service provider, man….
If it happened two years ago, I might have said nothing in front of those people ‘coz I think they have good reasons and they have every single right to tell their shit then deep down in heart I would forgive them without traces. But not now…. You say bad things or do bad things to me, I put a line of tally somewhere in the space to count how good the Universe is at Math.
I’ve changed; yes, I have. Never underestimate what I have and what I’ve done well anymore. You can think of however you like to think about me but I don’t care. I will do whatever I like if I know it’s right. That’s it — I rest my case.

Another business trip and I just can’t stop thanking the Universe for giving me the life of abundance of freedom and freeness. What should I do but working as the best performer in my own scales? No need to compete, no need to crave for more recognition ‘coz the deeds are the rewards themselves. Thanks
Nagoya Castle under the Sep’ 9’s (almost) full moon
Moon was shining just two nights before it was brightly blinding.
This is the reflection of castle and moon on my room window glass.
Incredibly amazing, the effect of light has brought. From Nagoya we rode to Nagano. I stayed in a resort called Komagane Kogen Resort Linx. A nice resort with friendly people – staffs and guest alike. Mountains and country side have always been the soulmate. What a smart gift for my birthday! Thanks again.

See it close…. Details of water lily stun me.
Life is about composing a beautiful friendship by living to the fullest with the outstanding quality of each of the person….
There was a time when I was so enclosed, look so plain and insecure, hidden in my firm unreadiness to reveal my own self.
And, there was a time when I was so aware of my tainted body.
And, when all is done, who can deny the beauty?
Oh there was something, bothering? Sometimes…. But it was just a bug, a virus named insecure friend visiting once in a while to feel the revealing security.
Ooohhhhhh Ms. Sun, are you so radiant showering me so much light? Thank you….

To me, this airport has one added value. It provides nature presentation among those modern establishments. Some spots are decorated with plants and pools full with koi fish. In Chinese culture, this fish is believed to bring luck and wealth. In one central point is two giant bouquets of flower arrangement with flow of water and sounds of forest are played…. So much like surrounded by atmosphere of rain forest.
I took some pics of orchids planted in one spot of Changi, just to remember some pots of orchids I raised at home in Indonesia and that I left to reach my dream….
Thanks to the designer and idea owner of this concept. I am a villager – an alien – in Singapore that will eventually be sent to transit in Changi airport whenever I miss my beloved country which has (left over of) rain forests.
Not a professional works but these pictures are captured by eyes unstoppably reaching out for peaceful life…. Feel the vibration….

DOA
Sahabat-sahabatku,
Doamu…
Menjadi pendampingku…
Tulus sayangku padamu semua… Sahabatku.

If this is the right time to leave, there must be a good lesson for me to learn.
NEGARA CILIK BIKIN MREKITIK
Belum lagi pemberitahuan “breakfast not included”.
Tanggal 25 Juli 2011 saya terbang bersama Air Asia menyeberangi langit menuju Changi.
Makanan disini mahal, Saudara. Kalau mau murah makan saja roti prata tanpa isi. Otomatis badan bisa kurus dengan sendirinya. Tapi saya nggak tega membeli roti yang bikinnya dicemek-cemek tangan Tuan Takur yang hitam ha ha ha… Sekali makan yang layak terjang sediakanlah sekitar Rp. 70.000 plus minum. Jadi kalau Anda makan tiga kali ya kalikan saja. Dijamin sangu dari kantor habis sebelum sampai rumah ha ha ha…
Ada satu lagi, telekomunikasi. Internet lancar walau di hotel murah sekalipun; hanya saja satu kamar satu username/password jadi kalau mau nge-Net kami berdua mesti bergantian.
